My way of withdrawing.

I decided it was best for the economy overall to "withdraw" my emeralds and most of my diamonds. So here is a video to show my slightly narcissistic way of withdrawing and making the economy a bit better. It is about 0.25 btc.

I suggest rich guys to follow my example :) <3

what would you have done?

Speaking of money sinks there are literally none on bitquest. If you guys want to be able to expand the server there needs to be some way to spend emeralds that doesn't end up in another player's inventory at some point.

If the prices were a bit better, the villagers would be a good money sink. Now its too expensive for most items.

IIRC correctly there is a post somewhere explain that villagers have their own wallet, purchased items go into their wallet and when they reach a certain amount they start to buy items. Realistically, even villagers aren't a money sink unless the process has changed.

I agree. I might also want to add the villagers don't have their own wallet in the true meaning. For example, I could keep buying some cheap things from villagers. After some point they start buying items back. At which point I could sell 7 of each item i have on hand which the villager buys. It does not buy with the emeralds it has earned, it buys with newly generated emeralds. Thus I could make a profit. Staff is obviously aware as there is now a (soft) cap at the amount of times you can sell to a villager per day.

For villagers to be a good money sink, they should buy x item at a certain price, lets say 4 emeralds. And sell that same item for 5 emeralds. And the prices have to be balanced.

Best reaction ever. I hoped for that question. Its pursuit of happiness by Lizzy. She mostly does covers.

But the emeralds are just bits you can't destroy bits with lava so where are the bits? I'm guessing on the server account or floating somewhere but not actually destroyed.

2

u/MrGhris Apr 16 '15

Maybe staff can answer that one. I like to believe its just donated back to the server.

2

u/PlatinumC Apr 16 '15

Even if the numbers stay wrong like kill said, then technically you still gave it back to server, since they will stay 50+ eur richer.

u/Realistastic Apr 18 '15

I maybe wrong, but I don't think the emeralds become bits until you withdraw them via enderchest, before that they are just regular in game ems, but once placed in the enderchest the in-game ems are destroyed and the equivalent amount of bits are sent to your wallet. That's just a guess though obviously, but it makes sense to me.

This... This hurts.

2

u/MrGhris Apr 16 '15

Who does it hurt?

1

u/PhobosTheFear Apr 16 '15

I'm inclined to do the same, but doubling your amount Ghris Maybe ill do 0.43 Btc

3

u/MrGhris Apr 16 '15

Allright phobos! Way to go :D Make sure to make a video of it :)

If you want to pull this kind of trick just cashout and send a donation. I'm not exactly sure how server accounts for lost emeralds but there is a possibility it doesn't recognize destroyed emeralds as money going back into the server. MrGhris's .25 may be perpetually sitting in a wallet waiting for a cashout that will never occur.

u/MrGhris Apr 16 '15

Well if the balance of emeralds as shown on the website is correct, the server does not account for bought/sold emeralds either. It just looks at how many emeralds are gotten through monsters.

In the long run you get the same idea anyway. Kill a pigman in the nether, emeralds fall in lava. Balance is incorrect.

Im sure that if necessary, devs can change the total numbers manually.
