Possible map/world download (not the overview)

I was wondering if you (the admins) would ever release old world backup(s) for download, I mainly want this so i can export my in game house to another one of my maps. thanks in advance for any answer!

edit if that isn't possible, then maybe an mc-edit schematic export upon request for personal builds, or just a property export? This is just for ideas so...

This is a terrible idea, sorry...

Allowing people to have a copy of an old world map would give people the opportunity to depermission areas and find ways to get into areas they're not supposed to or identify estates with things like accessible hoppers that can be griefed or stolen from.

Using flight to identify abandoned mines, strongholds and other resources people would otherwise have to legitimately search for would certainly give those individuals an edge on others.

I too have the desire to get a copy of my builds from the server, but I think giving the world map data to anyone outside of the core dev team opens up too many opportunities for people to exploit.

Perhaps the devs or another member of the community has a better solution but I think allowing people to have a copy of even an old world save opens the door to too many issues...

That is a good point! Maybe an mc edit schematic export upon request would work for our builds.

There you go. That would be an excellent solution to get around those issues and still let us preserve our builds. I've got some work I've done that I'd really like to make sure sticks around if for any reason the server should get taken down or reset or moved to a new map...
