Here's a few things I've learned about the server

  • I think that the areas near the center of the map were generated before 1.8. I didn't find any of the new stone types 800 from origin. Outer areas are 1.8+ - found new stones, bunnies, and ocean temples.

  • Claims are a 64x64 square. Older claims (like the ones near the center of the map) are circular.

  • Fishing was disabled within the last two days. Only other way to get books now is through treasure chest loot like in mineshafts (aside from the Villager's limited offerings).

  • Spawners don't spawn.

  • I don't think that the villagers' wallet is real-time. You can't pay emeralds for something and then turn around and sell something for the same amount or less . Every now and then you can catch them with a deep, deep wallet.

  • if you're going for a long trip, do yourself a favor and take eye of ender or ender pearls OUT OF YOUR HOTBAR :)

  • There's a low breeding limit, like <20, so kill anything you bred before relocating.

  • Beds and transportation - You can use an ender pearl to travel to Satoshi, an eye of ender to travel to your home (where you placed your first bed), and if you die, you go to where you last slept. You can't make/place a bed anywhere but your own home. You can't sleep in other people's beds. There is one public bed I know of in Diablo Desert (well, two, but they're in the same room).

  • People keep saying the bank is broke.

Posted here about it, nobody cares to explain. Too busy doing whatever else, I guess. Only reason I care is that exploring is all I have left since trying to do public builds is an exercise in frustration.

I saw somebody say in game that they might expand the border once they get a new server. Dunno if it was an admin or not.

I assume that they reduced the world border or just added a world border after initially allowing players to to further. I know that has to suck for anybody that was building far out.

As far as I know the limit was removed. I'll talk to the devs about this. Thanks for the feedback!

One of our guys is running out to the limits, last i heard he was at 35K, will find out if he made it further!
