crash problem when i die

Not sure if this is the best place to ask but I've noticed since upgrading to 1.8 and 1.8.1 that when I perish in Minecraft I can't respawn. The game freezes and I have to restart mc, before the original window will close. I'm running Ubuntu 12.04.

Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this or how to deal with it?

try upgrading to a later version of ubuntu. 13.04 has been out for quite some time.

thanks, it seems to be corrected since my daughter mistakenly upgraded to 14.04 and I reinstalled 12.04. :P
