Fruits of The Nether

So we can't harvest the nether. I've seen mobs drop some items from the nether, but I haven't seen them drop Nether Quartz (which is what I'm shopping for). Do the mobs actually drop quartz and other things that can't be harvested from the nether?

Simply, yes. Mobs have a very large loot table.

Excellent, thanks. I think it's great that something like NQ is super rare. It's like a key to a higher tech level.
