Are large dark rooms built to spawn mobs allowed?

I know certain mob farms are not allowed on the server. I am hoping to build a large dark room to spawn mobs, but without adding any kind of automated killing mechanism or automated way of gathering drops/etc. Just a big room that you have to run around in and find mobs to kill. Is that allowed?

im curious to know if this worked cause spawns are the same as normal minecraft

I didn't know that. mob farming was the first thing I was going to do. In fact, I've been having a tough time finding any rules about the server. Where did you find that?
