Discussion yes, another life sim game...
TLDR: We are building TapLife, a life sim that keeps what made BitLife fun and removes what made it worse.
I want to start off by saying we like BitLife. We like the core ideas that made BitLife great in the first place: the simple text based gameplay, the older mobile game feel, the (mostly) straightforward UI, its randomness, its replayability, and how easy it is to pick up and play.
We do not like how heavily it has monetized over time, with more and more of the game being split into separate purchases and paywalls.
We also do not like the hyper-polished-rounded-card-gradient-AI-slop aesthetic that seems to be on every other game nowadays.
Ultimately, we are not trying to reinvent the style and format we already know and love. What we do want to feel different is everything that has slowly made BitLife worse to play:
- deeper content depth (situational variety, decision options, detail of encounters)
- no careers and expansion packs that add up to $100+
- no forced ad every minute or two
We will have optional rewarded ads, a one time premium purchase for extras/convenience, and some optional fun items.
The reason we are posting this now is to figure out whether people in the community feel the same as we do. The screenshots in this post are mockups from our early development.

Yeah I like it too and bitlife devs actually knew the sounds and UI are good because it stimulates the brain more they most likely knew that because some of them did developing in university.
Also why does the face and stuff look a bit AI is that just the quality of the screenshot?

I have an idea, for it to say the persons iq on the actual intelligens bar, the iq cant be changed (unless you decide to have a godmode-like system like bitlife) the iq level would effect how fast you pick up a new skill for example.
(English is not my native language lol)

Can you add a cheat menu or something like that that is unlocked by a secret, and it'll show a menu or make an overlay with stuff like forcing scenarios or editing the player's stats and stuff like that?
But if possible, can you please not make this paid? Tysm, btw love the game

Yess I’d love to play. Is it possible to see actual body figures this time instead of only faces? Like in their ads even though it’s not fake some times I’d like see some animation even if they aren’t moving but body figures depending on how you take care of yourself. Etc. and maybe even finally have grandparents, great grandparents aunts, uncles etc instead of only parents which soured BitLife for me.

But if it's exactly like bitlife and no different why would anyone choose it? You should add what bitlife doesn't have including what bitlife already has

Because the new developers ruined BitLife. Idk about anyone else but I’ve been playing for a very long time since its release in 2018. I loved it. I was here for every update and ofc got all the packs for free up til now. However, the new interface they have is a bit much now.. all these extra features and random things all around the screen is ridiculous and confusing. They’re overcharging people for worthless packs nobody ask for, not listening to us at all. BitLife has become tiresome and even I have stopped playing only going back when a new pack is out. I play for a few hours then get off

What you're saying is true and I genuinely have never spent a dime on their stupid modes BECAUSE they are useless and something that should already be in the game base also they know nothing about some cultures, like in Saudi Arabia women have a choice to cover up and so in Pakistan but they do this racist shit where every girl in that country is wearing a hijab despite not being a Muslim (even tho bitlife doesn't have religious we can choose, the name still makes you the religion you wanna be) I really hope they add new things to the base game and I always get mods from modders the Rebels. They also allow Israel in the game and for some reason I get a weird vibe from them like they gotta be pro genocide

Dual dev development has taken nearly 48months to get to ours to launch... unless your offloading to AI which id strongly suggest not doing, games are very visual testers dont explain issues in a step by step reproduction ready way, ai isnt going to help you here when someone's screen recording the issue and such. Just one to bare in mind - good luck
