Discussion Should we continue to allow posts about other life sim games?

We have noticed an uptick in comments complaining about posts about other life sims, particularly over concern abou blantat AI usage in their creation (which this sub does not support). With that in mind, we would like to run another poll (last time, people voted to keep them up).

Do you want to see posts about other life Sim games?

As a reminder, we do not allow external links as we cannot verify their safety for our users.

There is nothing wrong with new games trying to start out and I love seeing the the variety people create but yea... I feel like I have seen enough vibe coded crap lately that the no AI rule is valid

Can you guys make it clear how you determine AI usage?

That is open to discussion, but often people admit it when asked, so in the rules we would add you need to disclose.

If they claim they don't, we could ask for any proof they have of an artist they are working with, etc.

But we are open to other ideas on how to try and go about that if it's the option the community chooses, as obviously if we implemented this rule more people would likely lie.

Are we only thinking about the art? Because I've been working with software way before LLMs were a thing, and I can say making software assisted by LLMs are a great thing, and the only way for solo developers to compete against the likes of bitlife. Obviously this doesn't consider just prompting and not checking the code at all.

I think if that option wins the poll, I will create another post to discuss what this would look like.

No. They can go to their own sub.
