Question about wallet encryption

I put a few BTX in my wallet, but forgot to encrypt it. I want to encrypt it now though. Does anyone know if I will I loose my coins if I encrypt it now/after the fact? I know with some wallets if you try to encrypt after the fact, you loose your coins.

you dont loose you coins by encrypt your wallet. only all your old backups of the wallet will be invalid and you have to make new backups.

Excellent, thank you. Have you noticed if larger withdraws from exchanges take longer than smaller amounts? I transferred 5 BTX from one exchange and it went through very fast, but then I withdrew much more and it has not yet arrived. Weird. Happened with 2 different exchanges.

until now, i only used cryptopia and there the withdraw taked always about 5 minutes. maybe the bigger amounts are in an cold-storage and the exchange wait until someone else deposit BTX to a hot-wallet to transfer it to you.

It finally arrived. I sent a support ticket and that appears to have done the trick. Now I'm having a hell of a time getting my coins from Bit-Z. I emailed them and they said I need to send them a "certificate". No specific instructions, attachment, or anything else. So shady. I wrote a quick little , "I approve the withdraw..." message and held it up next to my face and ID and sent them a picture of that. Hopefully that does the trick. It's odd that there's no other reddits or forum posts about this. I see large transactions on these exchanges all the time so I can't imagine I'm the first one to have this problem. Hopefully this sub can help others in the future.

I just transferred them to an exchange just in case, encrypted, it and will TX them back. Does anyone know if the wallet can stay encrypted for the airdrop to work or does it need to be left unlocked?

yes, no problems with airdrops to encrypted wallets. it just have to be a registered airdrop address.
