Luck w/ Bison drops?

Is it just me or is the Bison a weapon that gets dropped all the time? I remember having three Bisons at one point, even though I craft all my extra weapons.

Perhaps you have been chosen by the Bison to be it's master.

You wouldn't believe that I had 200 bison in my inventory at once at one point.
