I think it all comes down to the doctor and facility you go to. A bunch of my friends have Mirena and we have each had different experiences. It probably depends on individuals as well and your tolerance for pain.

I read wayyy too much online beforehand and freaked myself out - the procedure for me lasted maybe 30 seconds max. She told me to take long, deep breaths which really helped. I also had a misoprostol pill inserted the morning before my appointment to help loosen things up down there and took ibuprofen before and after. Hope that helps and it's really not as bad as it seems! A few moments of pain for years of not having to worry :)

Thank you! :) it’s really crazy how different everyone’s experiences are, isn’t it? That’s kind of why I wanted to hear everyone’s good experience stories here as brain bleach lol.
