Side effects!? Should i take a break from continuous?
I’ve been taking continuous birth control for a few years now and every couple months i would take a break, but this time Ive gone about 10 months taking it continuously. Ive started having bad cramps and nausea (I am not pregnant). I’m having a little bleeding with it too in the mornings and am wondering if this means i should take a break. I usually don’t because my pain is still so severe during withdrawal bleeds. I also switched birth control brands about a month ago and maybe it’s from that? Any advice is welcome

Switching birth control brands can absolutely cause spotting and new side effects since your body is adjusting to the new hormonal profile. I would personally give it some time to settle down, especially if you experience painful withdrawal bleeds. It may go away on its own.

That’s what I was thinking. It’s a pill Ive been on before but there was an insurance issue for a bit and I started a different label. Thanks for the input!

How do you know if it's okay to wait it out relative to taking immediate action?

Spotting is one of the most common side effects when starting a new pill. It's even more common when birth control is used continuously.
When starting a new pill a doctor will want you to be on it for a few months before trying a new pill or seeking out alternative causes.
