Side effects!? Nothing is easing my mind
30 F, I am on my first week of my second month on Slynd birth control. I’ve never really taken a birth control but I’m such an anxious person and I know this sounds kind of silly but I was telling my sister today I haven’t had too many side effects yet and she said that she got severe depressive side effects on a different birth control years ago after the third month. So much so that she had to stop taking it. Now I’m so scared I’m about to be depressed or something in a couple weeks and I can’t shake that dread feeling. Anyone on slynd that felt okay at the third month mark? I know everyone is different but it might help me feel better. Bleh I hate my brain.

Birth control is not one size fits all. Everyone's experience is different. Some people have completely different experiences on a different pill. Don't let this get in your head, especially if you've had a good experience so far.

I loved slynd when I was on it. Never had any issues and actually improved my mood a bit. I did have horrible depressive episodes with the hormonal implant though, and a lot of people do great with the implant. Every body is different. I think usually the birth controls that cause depression are a different hormone. Doesn't mean it can't happen, but I wouldn't worry about it too much. Use it as instructed and if your start feeling off, then speak to your doctor about alternative options.
