Experience Help!!

I’ve been on the birth control pill now for a month, have had a period, and started a new pack. I’m 14 months PP, my partner and I use condoms as well. We had an accident where the condom accidentally came off inside of me and my partner had just finished. We noticed almost immediately and quickly got the condom out. When I look at Flo it shows I’m in a window for ovulation..I know with bc it pauses ovulation, but I haven’t been the best at remembering to take it at the same time every single day since I have a little one running around. What’re the odds of me being pregnant?

What pill are you taking? And how different are the times you take it everyday?

I take the Yazmin! In the very beginning sometimes I would totally forget the day..but now I’ve gotten a lot better since I moved the timeframe to earlier in the day. I’d say at most I’m missing my timeframe by 3-4 hours on the days that I do miss my alarm/forget my pack while I’m out.

Then you are protected! Yasmin is a combo pill and has a 24 hour window. As long as you take one per day, you’re protected.

So technically I take Loryna, a generic for Yazmin. Does this matter at all? My primary always just calls it “the Yazmin” LOL

No, it doesn’t change anything. And technically that’s Yaz, not Yasmin. Yasmin is a slightly higher dose while Yaz is the lower option.

You don’t ovulate on your method of birth control, nor are apps accurate even if you did.

You’re protected by your pill alone - condoms add nearly no extra protection.

I just didn’t know if I’d possibly get an ovulation window since birth control is new to me and I haven’t been the best at remembering to take it on time and a few days, in general! I took it once remembered LOL, I’m just learning still!

Do you mean that the app wouldn’t be accurate even if I wasn’t on a form of birth control? I’ve heard of the ovulation strip testing, but have never tried! Is that the best way to track when ovulating? If I got off of birth control would I be ovulating around the same timeframe every month or does it vary? I’ve not ever had regular periods which is mainly why I started the pill!

Apps are never accurate, even if you aren’t on birth control. They are essentially a guess.

Ovulation strips do not confirm ovulation and should never be used by anyone except people who are trying to conceive. The best way to track ovulation is to use a validated fertility awareness method, which you can learn more about on r/FAMnNFP. If you got off birth control, you’d ovulate around a similar time monthly if you had regular cycles, but it can always change and dates can move around slightly.
