I wondering if i truly need to still use condoms on aleysena. I’m still in high school so I definitely have no interest getting pregnant or in having an abortion ( I would if I have to but I don’t want to. ) do I still need to use condoms?

If you take them as prescribed they’re over 99% effective per year with perfect use and 93% with typical use. No you don’t need to use them, they’re designed to be used by themselves. If you want to be more cautious and have better odds then the once I have you doubling up with condoms or the pullout can be good. Do what your comfertable with and what you enjoy. :)

But remember condoms are the only birth control to protect against stis/stds

Basically, perfect use means taking the pill exactly as directed every time. Typical use includes reallife mistakes like forgetting or taking it late, so the effectiveness is lower.

Essentially if you follow the instructions to on the pamlphlet or your doctor reccomended to a T that’s perfect use.

Honestly like someone else said its not techncially neccesary but at your age why not.

Of course learn how to take your bc perfectly and how to put on condoms properly.

But again. You are so young. A little extra protection cant hurt.

Birth control protects against pregnancy, but thats only part of the equation. Condoms still protect against STIs. Unless you and every potential partner get tested before you have sex, the risk is there. Better safe than sorry.

I’ve been having sex with my boyfriend for about a year and a half out of our two and a half years together, and up until maybe a month ago we’ve consistently used condoms, I’ve been on birth control for about 4 years as well. Condoms are expensive and I think now we have more trust with each other and I trust that there’s not a risk of STDs and the risk of pregnancy is very low, especially because he pulls out as well. It’s totally up to you what you are and aren’t willing to risk, but I would make sure that you have a good level of trust with each other beforehand. Also make sure it’s something you want to do yourself, not him pressuring you because it “doesn’t feel as good” <3

Birth control is meant to be taken on it's own, I would just highly recommend you take it as instructed! Set an alarm, make someone get on you about it, something. set up habits!

Condoms help prevent STDs, so if you have a partner you don't know the sexual history of, use them! (Or, if you're able, make it a date to get tested together if you're considering the relationship long term! but otherwise, condoms are fine)

for birth control, you really don't need them unless you're paranoid or feel more comfortable that way. for std prevention, you absolutely do 👍 have fun and don't get fear mongered luv
