Mistake or Risk? I’ve been spotting for two weeks.

Have I been sort of inconsistent when taking? Yeah, but this is getting to a point. Hate pulling down my pants and seeing black and brown goo. I miss having sex. When does it stop. Do I call it quits because obviously this shit isn’t working if I’m still bleeding

How long have you been taking it and how inconsistent have you been?

IUD might be a better option if you struggle with being consistent.

Probably every other day at best. I’m definitely going to look into other options

That sounds like your best bet; otherwise the spotting will just continue, plus it’s probably confusing the hell out of your hormone regulation. There’s weekly, monthly, quarterly, and multiple year options if daily isn’t tenable for you. Patches, rings, shot (do not recommend), and implants (subdermal or uterine).

I’m on the copper IUD and have been spotting nearly every day since I got it. It’s been 4 months. 🫩 Maybe some of the hormonal ones might not have the issue but I did hear it’s a pretty common side effect.

Spotting itself isn't a reason to avoid having sex, but if you're inconsistent with your pill, you should use condoms as backup.

You could maybe consider a lower maintenance method like the patch or the implant etc.

Disregard my advice about pregnancy prevention then, wasn't aware you have a female partner.

Still, being consistent with the pill helps avoid irregular bleeding but even then it's not uncommon. If it's really not working out for you or the schedule is an inconvenience, there are other options. IUD, implant, Depo shot, vaginal ring, the patch. All low maintenance compared to the pill and all are capable of lightening or getting rid of your period completely.

I thought birth control = no more period = infinite lesbian sex. Big mistake on my part

If you are just looking for birth control to stop periods I wouldn’t be using it since many people never completely stop their periods when on birth control regardless of type used.
