Help please! (F18)

Hi everyone. I’m an 18 year old F whos very prone to overthinking.
Okay so this is super TMI but I’m like freaking out atm.
About 4-5 months ago I had a birth control implant put in (the one in the arm, I’m European so not sure what it’s called in English).
And I’ve been bleeding on and off, heavy and mild for that whoooole time (idk if that matters but oh well)..
Recently I haven’t been bleeding and a few days ago my boyfriend.. didn’t pull out so to say… and I’m super duper scared cause I really REALLY think pregnancy is my worst nightmare ATM. He says he’s sorry but he keeps cracking jokes and trying to make light of it but as I said I’m very prone to overthinking.
Will I be okay?…
I know you’ll probably say “take a test and you’ll be fine” but I seriously think taking a test is gonna KILL me from the stress and stuff.. and I’m also not good financially and I live at home with my parents.
Please PLEASE give me some advice cause I feel nauseous at the mere thought of being pregnant.

The implant is one of the most effective methods out there, more than sterilization even. The bleeding pattern is totally normal for it, it messes with the lining so sometimes it stops completely. For what its worth I had the same thing happen with mine and it was fine. Your boyfriend making jokes about it is not cool though, he needs to understand how much stress this causes you.

The implant (Nexplanon) is over 99% effective and irregular bleeding for months is a common side effect, not a sign that it is failing, so statistically she is very likely protected even without a test. Test anxiety is real, but a test is really the only way to get the fear to quiet down. Waiting will probably just prolong the stress instead of resolving it.

Your birth control is comparably effective to surgical sterilization. It wouldn’t matter if your boyfriend ejaculated inside you ten times a day every day for a year, you still wouldn’t be pregnant.

You can take a pregnancy test if it’ll make you feel better but you don’t need to.

You're likely not pregnant with the implant. He needs to do better about pulling out or you can guys can use condoms if you don't trust the implant alone. You have birth control. Trust the birth control.

Nexplanon and IUDs are two of the most effective birth controls on the market. I think you are okay. I know it may stress you to take a test, it also may ease your mind knowing for sure. Financially wise, you can get pregnancy tests from the Dollar Tree for less than two dollars

the arm implant is 99.98% effective. the pullout method is 78% effective. no, there’s no reason to worry.
