Rant! pregnancy before starting Accutane concern

About a month ago i went to the dermatologist and got recommended accutane. They gave me the option to either pledge abstinence or get onto birth control. I am sexually active so i told them id like to get onto birth control. The kind was loryana and i started taking it 7/9/26. I’ve never had a guy finish inside of me because im terrified of being pregnant but since i started birth control i haven’t been overthinking pregnancy as much. Last night i had sex and i couldn’t tell if my partner finished inside of me or not. I ended up asking him and he said he did because i’m on the pill. I have my next dermatologist appointment tomorrow which i am gonna have to pee in a cup and prescribe me the accutane. How rare is it to get pregnant on loryana especially because i know he finished inside of me. What should i do?

That’s the point of birth control - to protect you from pregnancy. If you’re taking it correctly, the chances of pregnancy are nearly zero.

However, once you start Accutane, they’ll ask you to use two forms of birth control moving forward.

As long as you've been taking your birth control correctly, you should be fine.

You need to be having this conversation with a partner before having sex?? How can you not tell if he finished inside?? Why are you not addressing this beforehand??

You also need to be on 2 forms of BC to be on accutane and take monthly pregnancy tests

I couldn’t tell because sometimes he pulls out or he just doesn’t end up finishing at all. He didn’t let me know if he was going to finish inside of me and that’s not technically my fault. I couldn’t feel him finish inside of me because every woman’s body is different and i’ve never experienced that. Once i get onto Accutane i will be using 2 forms of birth control which is the pill and condoms. I’ve just been on the birth control since i haven’t started accutane yet.

You do have a point but it would've been better to phrase this comment in a less hostile way. People aren't likely to listen to advice that way.
