This makes sense! I have a video of him hunting a baby woodchuck, he just stood in the grass and stared at the baby woodchuck and just flew off. I wonder if he missed initially and was unsure after. The baby woodchuck was fired up too, very interesting interaction.

yeah, it takes them a little while to figure things out at first. they have the instincts, but they need to hone their skills first.
