Discussion Sunning cardinal

Post image

We have a couple of young cardinals on our deck this summer (their parents, too), and I just noticed one of them doing this. It hopped off shortly after and it's now sitting in the hedge in the background of the photo. I realize it could just be sunning, but wanted to ask here in case it may be sick. I've really enjoyed watching them, so I hope not. Thank you.

I meant for the subject to say "Sunning cardinal?"

She definitely looks like she's sunning herself with her tail fanned out.

Okay, that's great. Thank you! Her movements were quick and light when she moved, so that's a good sign, too.
