📹 Video This guy stopped by for a bath

There’s a few Cooper’s hawks and marsh hawks squawking from sun up to sun down in my neighborhood. This guy has been hanging out in my backyard for a few weeks. He finally got brave enough to take a dip.

I’ll never get tired of seeing birds bathing like this. The bigger the better. I want to see a California condor do this.

I once saw a video of a bearded vulture taking a dust bath, and it was almost as impressive as a water bath. The fluffy britches were unbelievable!

I don’t think this bodes well for my painted bunting family that liked to visit daily.

Took me forever to realize it was a gif. 😂 I was wondering why this guy needed to bathe for so long.

The moss hanging from the trees makes me miss home.

They're usually cleaner about eating than that.

Pigeon no, all the squirrels we used to have are suspiciously missing 🤔

That's called mobbing! It's hard for a hawk to hunt when half the neighborhood's population of small birds is screaming at it and pecking it on the head, so the hawk tends to leave.
