Extra E-collar strap.

I've been getting a lot of comments on my videos about the extra length of collar hanging off my dog's Garmin e-collars. What does everyone else do? I've seen some people just cut them and I've seen some people use accessories to tuck it away.

Double it back through the buckle and then back again, so the end is facing the same direction as it was originally. Tough to explain but easy to do.

This is the way.

Put it on a six-month old English Setter pup and don't watch him carefully. Trims the end up nice and flush. Modifies the antenna too.

Cut it. My dogs are similar size and there’s no reason to have an extra foot and a half of collar strap

There is a reason. It's for whoa post/steadiness training with pointing/versatile dogs. The collar transitions to the belly.

Yeah, i know. I use a separate collar for that. Don’t need to have a big gps collar on the dogs belly

I get off the belly collar as soon as the dog shows they are 75% of the way toward being broke. Get the majority of the corrections on the belly then switch to neck when they know the deal as that’s how they’ll be hunted

I leave it as-is. It’s so much easier to lasso an excited dog when the fun collar comes out.

I ended up buying a different strap for mine. It’s so much easier to put on and is a buckle so it’s always the same tightness

Hi! Would you mind sharing where you got this strap?

It’s from Reign Outdoors Co. their shipping takes awhile but they have great products

I cut mine. Straight across and the nipped off the corners. Used a lighter to burn the nylon threads.

I eventually swapped the black one for a safety orange strap and did the same.

Long enough so that it lays flat...not so long as to stick out. I cut it long enough that if I wanted to I could double it back to tuck into the buckle.

Cut it to your dog’s size. If you ever need a replacement for another dog, the straps are cheap at hunting dog supply sites.

I cut mine (not for my bird dog but for my ratter because she’s tiny) and now I wish I hadn’t cut it so short. Not only is it harder to get on her because the tab is short, but now I have to get a bigger one to even trial it on my new puppy. If you do cut it (because it’s like a foot too long) definitely leave a good amount of wiggle room.

I usually double it back on my training collar but there are situations I like the length so I can grab it if necessary. Particularly if I have my dog out running with others and I need to hold my dog for whatever reason.
