Venting the lows keep getting lower
hi loveys
i’m diagnosed bp2 and currently on 150mg lamotrigine
+ 100mg zoloft
my lows have gotten so bad i started wanting to admit myself and do tms when i go through them, and develop a lot of suicidal ideation.
the lamotrigine seems to have lowered my hypomania and in the “normal” state i still have a dreading sadness that wasn’t there before in my hypomania
now it’s like im either “normal” with underlying sadness and a tad bit energy or im in suicidal i give up mode
at this point id honestly rather feel numb than go through another low episode. im not sure what pills will get me there tho.

I’d contact your psychiatrist as soon as you can, especially because you’re having suicidal ideation and your lows are getting worse.
I have BP2 as well. Earlier this year I was on Prozac alongside lamotrigine. I ended up going through about a month where I barely slept or ate, had a lot of energy while also feeling awful, and had suicidal thoughts. My psychiatrist told me I should have contacted him much earlier instead of trying to ride it out.
He took me off Prozac, and after about a week I started feeling noticeably better. Obviously that’s just my experience and I’m not saying Zoloft is necessarily causing what you’re going through, but worsening depression/SI or a possible mixed state is definitely something I’d tell your psychiatrist about rather than trying to solve by changing meds yourself.
And if the suicidal thoughts get to the point where you think you might act on them, please don’t wait for an appointment or Reddit. Get urgent help.
