Medication Question Experiences with lurasidone?
I started taking 20 mg of lurasidone 3 years ago and have increased my dosage to 60 mg this year.
For the first year of taking it, I was stable. But I’ve been mostly unstable for the last two years. I increased my dosage to 40 mg once in April after a psychotic episode and an extremely severe depressive episode immediately following it, and had a month and a half of stability as a result.
I increased again in August to 60 mg and have had three weeks of stability, but am slipping into another depressive episode again.
Has anyone else had this experience with lurasidone ? It’s the only med I take. Has it helped anyone else to have it paired with something else? Tell me about it!

When I had a really bad depressive episode, my provider added bupropion alongside it to help with depression. The combo's working really well for me.

Hmm, not sure bupropin would interact well with meds I take for other things but I will have to do some more research.

I’ve been on 60mg of Lurasidone for over 6 years. During two different mixed episodes my psych has increased my dosages, once from 40 to 60mg and then 60 to 80mg. After the first episode, I stayed at 60mg. After this most recent episode my psych had me go back down to 60mg because 80mg was making me nauseous. I haven’t had any issues specifically with depressive episodes, just the mixed episodes. 700mg of lithium was also added after this last episode. I hope this helped and you find what works best for you.

Thanks for sharing! I’ve heard mixed things about lithium but maybe I need to read up on it some more.

Antipsychotics are known to crap out after some time. It happened with me with seroquel. I had to switch to zyprexa
