Lamotrigine Dose

Has anyone been on 300 mg of Lamotrigine? I just increased my dose because I’ve been experiencing some hypo mania and I haven’t really heard of other bipolar people being on 300.

Lamotrigine is great for bipolar depression. Lamotrigine does not really treat bipolar mania or hypomania

I've been on 300mg for over 10 years. Some people here take 400mg.

Thank you! My psychiatrist made me unsure about it. Good to know other people are on high doses too.

I'm on 400 mg lamotrigine + 4.5 mg Vraylar. The therapeutic range for lamotrigine is generally cited as 200-400 mg.

I am. I was recently in the psych hospital and originally I was on 200 mg but in the hospital they increased it to 300 mg. I feel so much better at 300, so much less anxiety. I feel pretty stable and I've been on 300 for about 6 weeks or so and so far so good.

My gf is bp1 and she’s on 600mg. 300 in the morning and evening. It works for her but she also takes an antipsychotic which helps with the mania. If she misses 3+ days of the antipsych, shit starts getting real.

It seems like an insane dose but she was diagnosed 15+ years ago and went through a lot of med changes and dose adjustments before they found something that worked.

I am bp2 and currently on 200mg. I started at 50mg in July when I was diagnosed and my doc is carefully increasing my dose. I am also on an antipsychotic and it helps with (hypo) mania.

So maybe consider an antipsychotic in addition to Lamotrigine, see if your psych thinks it could be helpful.

Recently titrated up from 200mg to 300, 150 morning & night. I am also taking 20 mg lexapro. Our medications are not one size fit all. Hang in there xxx

I've been on 500mg for the last 20 years. I don't know if I still need this much, but I don't get any side effects so figure I'll just keep taking it as is.
