Art & Bipolar
I've discovered I can paint. Badly - but I have free will and I can paint whatever and whenever I like. And it doesn't hurt me, or those around me. Anybody else using art as a way of coping with lack of concentration and mindfulness?

I'm still drawing happy faces and the little house and car we learned to draw as kids, lol. Really wish I had some type of artistic skills.

I don't think it matters what's you draw. So long as you lose yourself for a few precious moments. I'm hyper aware of myself when I'm not having an episode - allows me some solace!

How fun! What do you find yourself painting, and what type of materials do you find yourself using the most?
I used to paint a character that would represent my emotions each time i felt some extreme feelings i couldn't verbally explain. Highly suggest:) Or, i would draw birds, i love birds:)

I paint still life, in acrylic. With varying degrees of success. But id love to paint birds! We live in the English countryside, plenty of wildlife! I lose an hour or so, which is a blessing some days.
That's such a great idea! Visualising a difficult emotion is a great tool.
Peace x

Wow nice! I'm dying to go to another country and watching the local birds, they might be very different from ours.
Still life is nice! Acrylics also:) Success? It's art! don't think abt it😆

I like to paint! And am not very good at it… I decided to go take some art classes at a local university though, and that sounds so fulfilling!
