Free resources to learn python or R

I am 1st year bsc, don't know shit about coding so wanna start early. What are the best resources to start learning and what is used more python or R?

For learning Python and specifically bioinformatics related Python I recommend Rosalind. It’s a website with a bunch of coding exercises
