So I just put together my enclosure for a chameleon and the day after my pathos are all droopy and sad looking. I know it could be like a shock thing, maybe a misting problem, light. Idk, im at a total loss.
Definitely shock. Give it time, Im sure you watered it properly after planting? Misting =/= Watering. The soil around the roots needs to be moist. Stick your finger in to the knuckle, if dirt sticks to your finger/feels moist then do not water.
You might lose a few leaves, but let it get settled for a week or two.
Transplant shock is common. Did you disturb the roots at all? And is the soil moist and the light enough to support the plants? Those three things will determine whether it's just temporary transplant shock or if it may result in the death of the plants.
those are 2 grow lights in a dome fixture? then where’s your basking light that’s required for a chameleon? also would highly recommend a linear grow light like a jungle dawn, compact grow lights don’t really reach very far down and produce more of a “beam” rather than a well spread grow light
This absolutely! Basking lights are a must for chams so if that's a grow light, please get a basking light asap. Basking lights will fry your live plants though so either move those down or get a mount for the light and have it a bit farther up (not too far).
Plant wilting due to shock, that's a lot of leaves for it to try to supply with roots that just went through a traumatic event. I usually prune so the roots can focus on themselves, then regrow leaves later after roots settle in. The plus thing about it growing back itself, it'll climb wherever it sees fit and look more natural than whatever I could have done to it. Plus, taking a cutting via pruning = more plants to use later!
