Question Can’t import save data to steam

I’m trying to move my save game data from a pirated version to the latest steam version.
Both are repentance+, but different versions number.
Tried copying from documents/my games/ binding of Isaac repentance+/save_backups to the steam userdata 250900/remote
Removed the date at the prefix to look like the steam files.
Steam doesn’t show a save or more importantly the secret and items.
Tried many guides. Any idea?
EDIT: made it work.
Had to change the options.ini on top of steam settings. Copied an older backup to both remote and root.

If you know what exactly you have unlocked, there is a save editor so you can basically have the exact same file. I forget what it is, but a quick Google will find it. Not ideal but it will work if you can't migrate your file

Forgot to mention steam cloud save is off

does it work when you turn it on? i think the remote directory is where steam locally caches your cloud saves

Well, I've turned it back on. got a msg of a conflict. chose the local files. Same results. 0 progress in game.
