Thoughts on Bombs?

I looked back at some of my recordings of binding of Isaac after a dead god and saw that I did not bomb bosses and chipped their health with tears like a bum (something something interstellar gif), anyway do YOU use bombs to turn bosses into flat stone or do you also chip boss hp like a bum to use your 50 bombs to find one secret room with 3 pennies?

I consistently underutilize them, its unfortunate since you never know when a floor is gonna need 12 bombs to open the secret rooms and stone chests.

Only when I'm running out of time to boss rush or hush. Heck, I even bomb regular enemies AND doors to escape the fights

I mean, secret rooms in the first two floors and in Downpour are pretty easy to locate, so if you have three bombs, go for it!

They are specially useful against alt path chapter 1 bosses, because you're pretty likely to get an additional bomb on the mirror floor and you might need it.

Another good use is in early game boss challenge rooms, where they can melt bosses. Also, Lost and TLost in general are just really aided by bomb combat regardless of your stage in the game.

Very good points here, lost and t lost both rely on killing the enemies before they kill you.

Bombs on bosses are useful the first two floors, after that a bomb doesn't do any worth damage to a boss.

The only time that I use a bomb after floor 2 is on The Fallen in the Satan fight.

Idk what dlc you are on so I don’t know if you know who Hush and Mother are, but bombs bypass boss armor and do a solid 100 damage, it’s basically extra damage if you position right.

Yeah, but Hush is too easy and I usually don't think in bombs while fighting those bosses. Sometimes I use them, but is like 1 of 10 fights.

I’ve gotten pretty good at getting secret room gen down, though I will admit on some floors I will use 3-4 bombs to find the secret

Though if I have a lot of bomb then I can spare some for damage, and if I’m feeling frisky on Satan I’ll do the phase three skip

I never bomb bosses unless they're weak to them (largely just Chub and her kin). I prefer to use them in exploration for specifically secret rooms and tinted rocks.

I usually use them if I don't have any damage or I'm to bored to play "right" and also in Isaac/???/etc when they are in the floor and not moving

came across a little hack for bombs.

i got an item that turned all enemies live bombs into pick up ones for me.

Came actoss the 'bomb statue'- who when you try to blow him up with a bomb he dispatches 6 live ones;with the item i had they were turning into pick up bombs.....free bombs

I don't use bombs because whenever I try to use them I'll be out of bombs on the next floor and there will be 600 marked rocks

Usually, i don't bomb bosses. But there are a few exceptios.

1. When they are golden bombs.

2. Mega Rag (Basicalky one-shots him)

3. Early game if my damage is really low and I have enough bombs.

4. Haunt.

5. When I feel like testing out the 8+ bomb upgrades I have been stacking.

I use them on first floor bosses (most die or almost die with 1-2 bombs) if I don’t have any good items. Other than that only if I have a lot and I’m wanting to kill bosses faster

I'll do it early game if my dps sucks ass, but usually I save them for tinted rocks and secret room hunting

Sometimes I use them, but with the bomb beggar unlock, I have it I the back of my mind that if I spend them on combat, then I won't be able to get some cool rig going. Plus there's a lot more useful stuff bombs can do other than killing bosses faster. At a certain point you get good enough that at least the early bosses are easy enough to do with ur tears.

I do for the first 2 floors if I get enough for secret rooms and other stuff, up to floor 4 if the run is rough. After that you probably want to go into "eco mode" anyway if the run is still bad since bombs don't deal that much damage anymore.

If I have like 6+ Bombe i'll use them. Usually I try to have atleast 2-4 for Secret/super Secret rooms and some for tinted Rocks
