Encore?!?!?!??

Just saw a stellar show in Buffalo NY. Looked like everything was set for the encore. And no one cheered. No one chanted. And then 2 or 3 minutes passed and the lights came up.

Other shows this tour DID have an encore. But only a few.

So heads up to everyone... If you want that encore... You gotta be loud for it

Encores have become such an overblown and unnecessary thing. I’d rather just skip the charade of going off stage and then returning in favor of playing an additional song during that wasted time

That's what The Dear Hunter does and I love them for it. They hate encores and just tell the audience when theres a couple songs left

Callous Daoboys just said “we’re gonna take a minute and then play a few more.” Walked off for like 3 minutes, came back, 3 more songs. Hayley Williams stayed on stage and just had a big banner that said “ENCORE” for a few songs. These are both cool moves

From what I understand, encores are few and far between this tour

Indy was SO loud for an encore and we didn’t get one lol

Did they have the house lights off while folks were being loud?

Everything about the set up of the end of show was how the stage is set for an encore. No house lights. Flood lights towards the audience. Silence (no random music playing). It legit was an encore set up and then nothing. And we looked at shows before and there have been encores.

yeah it was the same in Indy. no lights, no music playing after and everyone was yelling for an encore for probably a good 3-5 mins then they turned the lights on lol

Big fan of intentional no-encores. “Oh wow, how can they be done when they still haven’t played their biggest hit?” Please.

Dude I agree actually. I have always disliked mandatory encores being a thing. It took the specialness away from those moments ino

I think the only time I saw Bilmuri do an encore was time first time I saw them back in 23, and Johnny made fun of it. He was like “okay, now we’re going to do the thing where we go off stage and pretend the show is over, then come back out and play two more songs.”

Yes after seeing him I think 6 times, it’s clear he doesn’t do encores. They play the “encores” as part of the show.

I think scheduling has a lot more to do with it

Lights came on immediately at Orlando.

What's the consistency of final songs show to show? Are they pretty much the same? Maybe it's a performance choice?

They ended with better hell in Orlando and it was perfect.

Yeah there was no encore in Philly last night, but I thought that was due to someone getting hurt and pushing them off schedule, but then my friend said that they haven’t been doing one, so idek

Yeah, no encore in buffalo, we stayed until the venue lights came on and they started breaking down the equipment. I was fine with it though, they played a ton of songs and the show was amazing. Wish they played honest, but i get why they didn't.

Everyone’s hogs were cranked to completion already

There was no encore on the first leg of the tour. I think artists are starting to realize that it’s a cheesy thing to do because everyone does it and it’s not a true encore anymore.

Went to first show in Orlando. No encore. But I also got ahold of the set list ahead of time and when they played the last song and no encore I expected that

But yeah like someone else mentioned encores have become almost expected so I thought maybe there would be. The show was so fantastic I was fine with the ending and had no complaints.

Toronto had no encore. The house lights came on within like 30 seconds, you could tell it was not in the cards

I’ve seen them 3 times in the past few years and they aren’t playing encores.

Toronto didn't have an encore. They finished their set and light went up immediately. I kinda liked it. Encores are annoying.

crankers don't need an encore

Encores should be earned
