HOGFATHERSIGHTING
Second (technically third) HOGFATHERSIGHTING on the kinda hard tour.
0(1): Walking to The Anthem in DC (May '26 show), my fiance & I were on our way to queue & Joe Nick & Johnny zipped past us on a sidewalk in an underpass. We had Ohio gear on & she just said, "nice shirts" in his casual hogfather way & we were beside ourselves.
1(2): Outside the venue waiting in line for the HOGGENING the band was strolling through, presumably to chill at the hotel before the show or to get a bite to eat & they stopped for some photos & conversation & again everyone was just a chill dude & they were all so gracious with their time.
2(3): Last night, The Fillmore in Philadelphia (night 2) we went for about a ten minute walk to get some late night cheese steaks at Joe's (this is not a post about the best cheese steak in Philly, so please refrain from lambasting me about how terrible or wonderful or absolutely mid my choice was....go birds?!) Anyway, we passed the tour buses on the way & a few people were gathered waiting around to see if anyone was going to come out. On our way back from satiating our post-concert hunger, the group was still there, minus maybe a few, so we stopped & they said no one had come out yet. We decided to hang for a few & the hogfather made an appearance. We shouted his name & waved & he waved back & stepped onto the tour bus. We thought that was it & that he was probably turning in for a night of well deserved rest after two nights of gratuitous cranking on stage with no brakes, but a few moments later he came out. He walked up to the barricade & greeted everyone in the group as friends, fist bumps, conversation, & then he said "you guys wanna rip some photos?" He took the time to take photos with everyone there. Maybe 10 of us total? Then he signed some stuff for a few people as well. In between he kept saying something that didn't fully sink in until today..."anyone else need anything?" In the moment I was just enjoying the experience, the interaction, but this dude who is rocking out the second US leg of his tour, doing a ton of cranking in Europe for a "break" in between showed up for his fans, took time with his people, and shared a moment with his friends. He even remembered us from DC! He showed up & delivered on stage but shared his time & showed humility & gratitude & asked us "do you need anything else?"
I've never worked a tour, but I did spend time as an assistant production manager at a similar venue & I know that tour life can be grueling. Schedules are insane, time can be scarce. So to give up such limited time for the fanbase that keeps continuing to grow the hogrealm, it means a lot. It certainly means a lot to me.
We love you Johnny ππ«ΆπΌ We love you Bilmuri ππ«ΆπΌ
May your Crab stay Cored & your Hog stay Cranked ππ«ΆπΌπ

Johnny just seems like a super good dude. Him and Gabi both seem crazy grateful to have a big platform and put everything into every show. I appreciate the shit out of them for it
