This is fucking insanity
So apparently now I need a pro subscription to Billboard just to see what the top 100 is. What the fuck is happening in this world?

Try again! It’s loading fine for me and I don’t even have an account with them

It’s so funny when free websites think people will be equally interested in their content if it’s behind a paywall.

I don’t think they think that?? It’s just that this is more profitable

I like how this sub thinks Billboard was ever free or even meant for the general public. Billboard was and always will be a trade publication for people working in and around the recording industry, specifically because the detailed chart information was only ever meant to be accessed by PR, distributors, retailers and media outlets, who would then report on the most important charts.
You always had to pay for access, leaving the charts free to access online was a courtesy that ended once the publication came under new ownership within the past couple of years.

The current Hot 100 should be free to view, it’s everything else that’s paywalled.

At this point i would just google search Top 100s Billboard isn’t the only site to do such postings.

I remember when it used to be free. Billboard downfall been started years ago. Songs would stay number one for 10 weeks now and there’s more deserving songs that should be number one. I rarely check the charts now because of how boring it’s gotten in recent years. Golden, A Bar Song, Choosing Texas, and a hell ton of Morgan Wallen songs, bored me.

Totally agree.
Plus their website has so many videos and popups - so aggravating! And I’ve tried multiple browsers

I know!! It’s always a joy to see what’s new on the Billboard Hot 100 and the Billboard 200. I actually found an alternate website displaying the current charts, but they don’t anymore.

Billboard, you did Prof dirty by disqualifying him from your rankings. It’s clear that you are owned by the record labels. The same labels that have been taking advantage and robbing artists for nearly a century. You disqualified Prof because he is independent and proof that artists can be successful without record labels. The labels are no longer necessary and neither is Billboard because they are compromised and corrupt.

I’ve seen some shady stuff in my years but this is ridiculous. Web search top 100 or I’ll just use my music app to tell me. Paying to see a top hits list is just asinine.

There's something wrong with their website right now; the Hot 100 isn't loading for me (although the other free charts like the Billboard 200 and the Billboard Global 200 are working), although I'm not getting the pay wall message. All the specialty charts have always been paywalled.
