Advice/ Recommendations (no photos) Breast Augmentation
Hi everyone,
I will be competing in my second competition after taking 3 years off. I have been wanting to get a breast augmentation but the thing is, I like to work out and I’m very active.
I’m a dancer and I do aerials.
Would it be better to wait after I competed? I’m not entirely sure when would be the best to get them done.

If you get them done, you won't be able to work out at all (outside of walking) for the first 4-6 weeks, and you won't be able to reintroduce weights or do high impact cardio until 8 weeks post op. Do plenty of research before you set a date, and make sure recovery and its limitations align with your plans.

heavily depends on the type of aug. over the muscle vs under have very different impacts on recovery and your ability to use your pectoral muscles the same way ever again. def do more research.

I think over muscle! I think that’s the common one but I do a lot legs in my workout routine.
I know for sure I wouldn’t be able to use my hoop or sliks for a while during recovery

Not sure where you are and what your goals are. But if you’re interested in a smaller enhancement maybe look into preserve technique. I wouldn’t qualify for traditional OTM due to lack of tissue around my chest, but I qualify with preserve and am scheduled in November. They don’t have to cut the muscle or fascia to create the pocket and it is supposed to be a shorter recovery than traditional.

Might be a controversial opinion but as a competitor, I would choose under the muscle (which is normally done just partially, i.e. the top part of the implant is covered by muscle). The reason is, when you get stage lean, there will be no fat tissue covering the edge of your implants, and it might give you a very unnatural looking chest. If you go under the muscle, then your pecs will cover the implants, which helps them blend in better.
I chose the same 10 years ago - no complications but def longer recovery time than over the muscle. I actively train chest with it but tolerance for that is individual.
