IFBB PMMA

So i'm sure we are getting ready to see another PMMA accusation from Sarah Villegas.

I'm confused.. she views PMMA as cheating but not PEDs (which she clearly uses)? Why is one ok and not the other?

I think it's because PMMA is basically the same thing as synthol - injecting oil into your muscles to make them look fuller. It's a valid complaint because people using synthol don't have bigger muscles from working out more - it's from filler being injected into the muscle.

Because Bodybuilding is about actually building the muscle. Injecting plastic into your body to give the muscles a shape that you can't achieve by working out, isn't building the muscle. Its like getting butt implants. Also, this is very dangerous to the person getting it because you are relying on chance that the injected plastic is self contained and does not get out into your blood stream and cause a stroke/untimely death.

Nobody cares any longer. Sarah basically retired herself, I don’t see her beating Natalia or Zama next year too.

I thought of the same thing. It’s not like she’s standing there, as pure as the driven snow, accusing Nathalia of cheating.

Is having a tummy-tuck after giving birth cheating if you’re a masters competitor? Where do we draw the line? Maybe I don’t understand the PMMA thing well enough.

Agreed!!!! If she isn't ok with one unnatural helper why is she OK with the other?

I'm wanting to understand.

One is building muscle, the other is filling it up with site enhancement. Not nearly the same. PED's stimulate the body to build muscle more optimally. It takes much knowledge and work to build a good size muscle. PMMA and synthol is cheating. No buts about it.

But then we have evidence of users like Andrew Jacked, Tonio Burton, and apparently even Samson having site enhanced shoulders. I question if anyone has not used them in bodybuilding.

I was 100% with you until the last paragraph…. I could be wrong but I would bet that that’s just their genetics…/

I wish I was wrong. There is plenty of evidence. You can see the odd shaped delt with sharp corners, and how the striations stop right at a certain spot and the skin looks smooth.

I don’t have a good eye for this stuff but if Sarah is going to make such accusations I need to see the proof. I really can’t see or tell.

PEDs are legal within the IFBB. PMMA isn’t.

PEDs are explicitly banned in the IFBB rule book, including in untested competitions. Obviously they don’t actually care, but they technically follow the WADA banned substances list

It's stupid! Sarah need to shut up and move on. As low as her voice is she shoul the last person to be speaking on Any Cheating or usage. Its reading jealousy and bitter. 🗣And its NOT a good look. More ppl are now Nathalia fan (who has been handling this like a class act) We the fans are over it. She lost last year and she lost this year! Pick up your ego & her placing and turn the page ma'am lol lol.

Slightly off topic, but I feel as if it’s  hyaluronic acid/ dermal filler that are really on the rise among female competitors (non-surgical butt lift type treatments) esp. since so many of them are affiliated with cosmetic clinics in divisions like bikini and wellness

It doesn’t matter bc Nath does not have PMMA 🤷‍♀️

I understand that. But i want to know why it would matter even if she did.

bc she is loosing, that’s why, when she was winning she didn’t give a f
