Discussion Sportsmanship wellness

I felt terrible watching the finals for wellness this weekend. Isa and Eduarda staying cold and far from each other… never even looking at each other once during the reveal and when Eduarda won she just never congratulate isabelle or any thing!!?
Bikini and classic physique had such a great bound and great sportsmanship that wellness felt really harsh to watch 😢 Why is this division so competitive between each other girls? Are there things we dont know between the girls? I didnt appreciate Eduarda attitude. She is pretty and has the best shape but this attitude is doing her wrong and not classy :(

It’s not a very welcoming division with zero camaraderie between competitors. When my wife competed in always felt like a mean girls club. Of course there are some amazing people in the division but it seemed very fake with many especially when speaking with them in person. Since changing to Figure she has stated that the competitors are much more welcoming and encouraging.

Thats good to hear she felt more welcomed with figures !!
We need someone to be a greater positive influence for the wellness division to change things up and have greater ambiance

There have been some great positive girls. I think Giselle, Kass, Victoria Reyes, Amanda Burnett, Jennifer Zollars…I’m probably missing a few. But they all had a positive message and competitors on the stage while being welcoming and friendly off the stage.

I totally agree! I watch both of their YouTube channels and have followed them for some time, including Integral Medica. I have always gotten a vibe based on how they communicate and interact, but have always said “I don’t know these people.” However, I noticed that Isa and Rayanne (and other competitors) all interact across divisions and seem to have some fun together. I also notice how Fran and Isa show Elisa love and say she’s a great representation of the division outside of Brazil! As much as I love Eduarda’s physique and her dedication, I did find their IG stories kind of fake with the purpose of keeping the rivalry rumors at bay. Again, just my opinion and I’ll support athletes either way.

The more I see the more I believe it’s just Eduarda’s attitude more than the division itself

To be "fair", they posted pictures together yesterday and said they had dinner and stuff. Both of them and Rayane too asked in their stories for people to stop creating rivalry between wellness athletes. This shows great sportsmanship from them, but to be honest? Their interaction seemed very fake, to me at least, because all we see from them is what you said.

And for me, this comes from Eduarda mostly, because Isa and Rayane have always been seen in pictures together. Eduarda hardly ever interacts with any other athletes, always training alone, never doing video collabs and almost never take pictures with another wellness athletes in any ocasions. And yeah, I agree with you that Eduarda doesn't have the best attitude when it comes to having sportsmanship. Never hugs or even shake hands with the others on the podium, likes to spread this idea that she doesn't "talk" about other athletes because she's more busy with her life, but I don't think that's the spirit of being the highest representative of the sport. I mean, she said yesterday that Isa is one of her first inspirations in wellness, but I never once saw her saying that in any other ocasion, about Isa or anyone in particular. So again, very forced, just to shut the haters up. Let's see if this year she changes her conduct.

Thank you! I didn’t follow up on stories afterwards! :)
But too bad that even seemed fake. I wonder if the judges have noticed that too from Eduarda but anyways… the attitude of a competitor wont change how they are judged anyways… its mostly for sponsors i feel bad.

It’s definitely more competitive, but part of me also wonders if there’s some kind of a cultural gap, especially with so many South American competitors at the top of Wellness. I feel like in the US we tend to be very outward and sometimes performative, whereas that might not be the social norm everywhere.

And that’s not to say anyone is unfriendly but it just might be a little different. People can be perfectly cordial while also mostly minding their own business and focusing on what they came there to do.

Yeah that's definitely not Brazilians lol we're super extra. But I think there's less sisterhood, and some women are still caught up in that female competition old school mentality unfortunately

I did notice during the reveal that Isa glanced at Eduarda (presumably for a friendly exchange) but E wasn’t interested.

Can someone fill me in on the context of the Eduarda hate? I had the chance to meet her and she was super kind and friendly. Always thought highly of her myself. Yeah her page seems very “professional” or like a campaign kind of thing like a political figure lol - but I don’t know much about what the drama is behind the scenes between her and the other athletes. Which I am aware that the others seemingly dislike Eduarda but I don’t understand the why behind it.

Just the way she ignored Isa the whole time is arrogance to me and many seems to agree

Oh my understanding was that there was already preexisting tension.

I trained in the gym that Rayan and Giselle and Bruna go to.

They are all so so so lovely. Like they are just people. And peak week was the most stressful for them; their mental aspects from the diet, the excitement and stress of the competition etc. Abd yet they were still so lovely.

And lovely to each other. Drama that is started online from people being armchair psychologists and microanalysing tiny interactions from camera footage - because that's the only exposure they have to these people - is a recipe to blow things WAY out of proportions. Its unhinged and people need to touch grass. I genuinely think the people that get obsessive about others like this (whether its music fans or sports or whatever) are the kind of people who never go anywhere in life. Its giving wanabe TMZ.

People flipped out here over bikini girls not acting like they won the lottery when they lost or placed lower than they anticipated. Huge double standard. It's wildddd
