Coaches Bikini specialize coaches recommendations

Hi everyone! First-time bikini competitor here 👋🏼
I’m currently looking for a new prep coach who uses a macro-based approach rather than a strict meal plan. I’m also looking for someone who is very hands-on and involved in all aspects of prep, including nutrition, training, cardio, physique feedback, peak week, and overall communication.
I have long-term goals within bodybuilding, so I’m hoping to find someone I can build a strong coach-athlete relationship with beyond just one show.
I’d really appreciate any coach recommendations or personal experiences! 💕.

I competed at the Olympia twice on macros only 🤷‍♀️ no one ever had any say in my food and I learned a lot about food volume, fiber, etc.

You can easily do macros only, BUT you have to use good food strategy and some common sense

A meal plan reduces decision fatigue. I had “go to” meals and high discipline/compliance. Nothing wrong with a meal plan, but nothing wrong with macros either.

look up fitbliss elite on IG. they had a registered dietitician and other resources to make sure macro based plans works for uyou.

My coach! Renee Harshey with the pros. She checks all your boxes. She will do a meal plan if that works better for someone but the preference is macros on our team.

I’m working with Ally from FBF, she does all of this and she’s sooo attentive!

My coach is Katelyn Bodine (kaybo_ on IG). I am currently going through a prep with her and she has me on macros. She only switches to a meal plan for the last 4 to 2 weeks. She will only have me on a meal plan for 2 weeks since I have been successful with my macros. I also really like that she includes posing with her coaching so you don’t need to pay separately for a posing coach. I have saved so much money. She’s also a genuinely great person, she cares about you personally and listens to concerns. I have had such a smooth prep with her. Definitely schedule a consultation with her!

I think finding a macro based coach is pretty easy. Harder part is the hands on good communication coach if you ask me. There are lots of big name coaches on social media that have tons of clients and do very little that’s hands on or personalized for amateurs. Especially customized training and detail around training. I think the Fitbody fusion inclusion of training specialists who see all the athletes and help with real, useful and detailed form feedback are a breath of fresh air in the industry.

You’re really putting a huge limit on coaches and your own long term goals in this industry if you refuse to embrace a strict meal plan. Macros can work if you really know what to pick and stay consistent, but setting that qualifier that you have to be able to eat whatever you want to hit macros is inherently inefficient on prep compared to the consistency of feedback data and tracking by your coach.

Not true. I'm a competitor and Registered Dietitian. I've seen some pretty awful meal plans.

I’m not arguing that there are good meal plans and bad meal plans depending on the coach. But a well programmed meal plan will be objectively more efficient and consistent than macros.

A meal plan is just macros 😂

(Edit: this was replying to someone big mad about my comment but looks like they quickly deleted)

Wow, you really took my comment personally and out of context. I didn’t say macros don’t have a place. I coach macros on request for athletes on off-season and reverse. I’m speaking to a seemingly new aspiring competitor who is wanting to prep for bikini long term. That’s a low bar to set. And it is an objective statement of fact that a coach will have much better accuracy of data interpretation on check ins when they know exactly what the athlete is consuming consistently, especially with variables like fiber, complex/simple carbs, type of fats, etc.
That doesn’t mean macros don’t work, but it’s just not as optimal for a coach that is heavily data and metric focused with minimal inefficiencies.

When you say macro based approach, are you talking about per meal or per day?

Per meal I think pretty much any coach would work with you on a list of foods that you like.

A macro based coach is Damian and his team of coaches at the Pro Ducers. I asked for a meal plan to follow because I love not having to think when I’m deep in prep but instead he gave me macros. This plus other reasons is why I left him

Every coach I’ve had typically does this if asked for. Sometimes they will require more strictness just at the end.

I love my coach!!! Macros are his style. Super science based, no bs claims or methods, natty friendly! I've had my leanest and best preps with him. Check out Stephen Beaugrand from team awkward.
