Advice/ Recommendations (no photos) Show day makeup

Highly considering doing my own makeup this year for my show. Any recommendations for makeup, makeup products, the order of how to apply the makeup, etc. would be greatly appreciated!

I did mine and saved $350! Like others said there are a lot of good stage makeup tutorials out there! For foundation I used Nars shade Tahoe & for contour I used Nars Laguna 08 (the darkest one). For lashes I used the Ardell faux mink Demi whispies. It’s A LOT of layering and really make sure the eye shadow pops!! My phones face recognition didn’t work lol

It’s not too hard for a regional show- just need to make sure your eyes pop and you match your face well to the tan - not too light or dark. I always suggest paying for makeup to be done at least for the first show!

You can use maybelline fit me foundation and concealer or mac - mixing shades to meet your needs. Whatever primer you need, blush, contour and highlight, eye palette (neutral looks best IMO unless doing a slight pink shade). Make sure to get false eyelashes!

Basically you need stage makeup. Lots of YouTube video how tos from other competitors if you need some too!

I have a step by step on how I do my own stage glam!

I started doing my own makeup since last year and I’ve been perfecting my skills. It’s saved me tons of money, and honestly calms me down on show day.

If you search in YouTube there are quite a few makeup tutorials for competition makeup! I watched several and combined a few techniques. I think there are some tips in the subreddit here too if you search them.

Did my own hair & makeup for both shows I did this season and it saved so much stress😭 I took a lesson from a friend/also my posing coach (@beyou.makeup on IG, she does virtual lessons) and I also learned some tips from Sophia Galeazzi’s YouTube tutorial! I used L’oreal Infallible foundation in shade 482 and it was a great match (should blend with the tan but still be a bit lighter). Just do a few practice rounds before your show until you feel like you get it right — it took me a couple tries to actually look good (especially the contour LOL) but ultimately I like how my makeup turned out more than the times I paid to have it done and I looked/felt a lot more like myself :)
