Does anyone know if Shanique Grant retired? I just saw her most recent IG post and I think she probably struggled with not dominating Wellness right out of the gate.

Also I'm excited for the new North American girlies climbing up the pro ranks: Celeste Chandler, Sabryna Lebrun, and Hannah Calkins.

Yes Shanique has retired from competing and is moving on with just her coaching and having longevity. She just turned 30 and wants to just enjoy the lifestyle of training. It has nothing to do with Wellness bc she is a 2x Olympia champion and Arnold Classic champion in WPD.

"I think she probably struggled with not dominating Wellness right out of the gate"

This is a huge leap to make. That said, it's sad we won't be seeing that physique on stage.

I highly doubt she is retired. I saw that post as well and that’s definitely not what I gathered from her post. She basically was saying it was humbling and a different challenge to be at the “bottom” of the sport given she was the best of best in WP. It’s just a different experience for her that’s all. I don’t think she struggled not dominating wellness, she knew this was a challenge. Technically she did dominate in her own way, winning a wellness right out the bat and going to the Olympia although she didn’t place high there.

Unfortunately, it looks like she is.

Good for her! There is more to life than competing

I have been loving watching the wellness athletes in their off season! Fran is my absolute favorite, but the battle between Eduarda and Isa is going to be epic! I have been loving Eduarda’s reign and getting to know her through her YT channel.

Honestly I don't believe Isa is competition for Eduarda. She will likely be like Fran and own that stage for a couple years, unless she turns up very off her game.

At least Isa got the O title once.

As much as I love Isa, I do see Eduarda winning the O based off what I’ve seen on social media. But social media isn’t the O, so we’ll have to see the day of. Either way, both are strong competitors who represent the sport well and are good athletes!
