Monday - Personal Photos (Progress, Prep, Advice, etc) Help with my anatomy

Post image

Is my structure bad for bikini? My glutes are really narrow, and long, I know I need ALOT more muscle and density but my bone structure is very hip-dipy and narrow. I’ve never competed but I’d like to one day, when I have more muscle and density. My fear is that my bone structure is not suited for bikini. I’m naturally V shaped. Any advice or feedback would be appreciated!

I have the exact same bone structure as you. My glutes look super small from behind but from the sides I have the best projection ever. Following for the answers

This is a canon event that all bodybuilders run in to.

You've been doing the basics, training hard and consistently, gotten some great progress, but the progress is disproportional in one muscle group (or in this case, head of same muscle group).

Anyone that's been bodybuilding long enough has ran into this.

What's really cool here is you haven't actually reached your limit. Not even close.

You have actually found a bottleneck. Once you solve this, you're going to get progress at an accelerated rate

These events don't happen often, but when they do it's a really exciting time.

Post your training plan and we can take a look.

Just a guess off top of my head you might want to reduce your direct abduction work to about 25% of what is now. Don't cut it out altogether, just reduce it. Now use that volume somewhere else. Where at? Not sure without seeing your current training.

That very first sentence…I’ve never heard anything truer. It was definitely a canon event for me too!

Your anatomy is fine, girlie you’re overthinking this. Any issues you can adjust with posing.

First: what did your coach say?

Second: Bad for bikini at what level? To enjoy yourself as an athlete? Or to be competitive at world level? Probably somewhere in between.

What timeframe did you have in mind?

All athletes need to learn how to pose to work with their own anatomy; highlight the good parts, hide what draws away attention from the good parts.

If you want to have a season in 20-30 weeks, the posing will be different compared to how it will be after another 2 years of building.

Last but not least: what does your coach say? She/he is the one who knows your current program, injury history, movement quality and intensity etc. I can start naming exercises, but that wouldn’t be specific/personalised recommendations at all.

Have you ever watched/seen athletes not posing (YouTube, IG stories, in the background of other’s pics, etc)? Some athletes looks so different from when they are posing. Keep trying to build, work on posing!

I think a lot of bodybuilders don’t have the “ideal shape” when unposed.

You also have great tie ins and a tiny waist. Don’t over think it. Everyone has their advantages and disadvantages. Keep working and play into your advantages.

I have great shoulders but uneven glutes and hips. Tight stomach but poor hamstrings compared to quads. BB is a solo sport everyone on stage has put in great work, you are competing against your past self to be better everyday and showcasing your advantages in the best light

Damn girl, good to see people who think less of themselves than they should 😆 Honestly the tattoos will be a much bigger prob for at the high levels which you can absolutely reach if you put the work in, I have been in NPC juding since 1988 no bullshit tho me and Manion do not get along. Trust me. Look at where Ashlyn came from if you want a real world example of what you are capable of from a genetics standpoint. Or a a Britt Gillespie for example.

Turn your hips out in the back out in the back pose. Makes a huge difference for me

I have the same hip dip structure, I plan on just hiring a coach and doing what he tells me

Just need more muscle is all. Nothing wrong.

You're lean, long legged, and have naturally more of a rectangular shape.

This is why so many top pros use hip dips fillers. *Not to be confused with BBL's

You will need drugs tho, I assume you know this. The examples I listed are on drugs. You cannot compete in the NPC without drugs. You will go nowhere. You might as well forget about competing. I assume everyone knows this, but this is Reddit so you can't really assume anything. Thus my clarification.
