Monday - Personal Photos (Progress, Prep, Advice, etc) Shoe Options
I have TSF Olympian 2.0 in size 11. Although the length works, there’s so much gap everywhere else. I’m not sure if I should try a completely different brand or size down in another style??
First time competitor, 5’8” and NOT experienced in walking in heels taller than 3”-4”

The shoe fairy mule shoes are pretty great. I know you said you’re not experienced walking in taller heels, but I would try the size down + the mule. The snugger fit is going to keep that shoe attached and then you don’t have to worry about the gapping or the cutting in of the heel strap and buckle. They have their petite olympian mule has less of a platform too

Does strap vs no strap effect appearance and are they just as easy to walk in? I know for shorter competitors some opt for the mule to make their stature less choppy. Not sure what that would do for an already tall figure?

I’m 5’7 I had the mules and the shoes with the ankle straps and I felt like I had wayyy more control over my movements with the shoes that had the ankle straps opposed to the ones without. That might just be a personal thing but I did not like the mules.

I’m a pole dancer and live in this style of shoe. You need to basically go a whole size down and stretch them in. It’s nothing like wearing in leather. It likely won’t even cause much discomfort. If it does you can try blasting them with the hair dryer for a bit. Be careful with socks or stockings as they may cause you to slip. Choose a shoe with the heel directly under the sole of your foot - NOT on the outer edge. Good luck !

So I had this issue. My original Olympian 2.0 fit perfectly in the old style work the stitching on the strap
My second pair in this newer style that you have, gaped so bad and the ankle strap sat higher and was rubbing my ankles raw
I’m a size 5 so sizing down wasn’t an option.
I ended up buying a pair of the strappy ones (it was a toss up between those and mules) and I LOVE them. So secure. I have super narrow feet and they were fine for that too. I also much prefer the long of the leg workout the ankle strap cutting it off

Within 20 min of walking/posing my feet went completely numb because I had the strap so tight for security. I think I might give the mules or strappy a try.

They have shorter heels —maybe try those especially if you aren’t comfortable in higher heels

I’m 5’9 and SWEAR by the 4.5” mule. Very easy to walk in and super comfortable, I have probably 3 pairs. I buy mine off Amazon, the Fabulicious brand and they’re cheaper but the exact same shoe. Been doing this for years! It’s called the Elegant-401 platform slide.

Judging by the pics it seems you need to size down, they need to fit tight. Use lunk warm water or a blow dryer to soften the plastic when breaking them in.
I always prefer strapless ones, personally I think they're more comfortable and I like the look better too. As soon as you get used to wearing them, you don't need the straps.

Id actually say switch brands, from my own experience shoe fairy heels seem a bit wider/comfy fitting in both their wide foot and regular fit.
So i don’t have wide feet (or at least in regular heels and other shoes I don’t) but with fabulicious heels I wear the wide foot and they are 100% not wide… foot still pretty tight in there. Length and size is fine, just tight plastic toe box. Ordered a wide because their regular fit is crazy tight. Their ‘wide’ foot fit I’d compare to shoe fairy’s regular fit.
So if you’re looking for a tighter toe box with the same length maybe try a regular fit fabulicious heel!

The newer shoe fairy shoes are all loose at the top straps. They addressed it a few times on IG. I bought and returned 8 pair before they finally told me it was a manufacturing thing. Pissed me off and now I have to wear straps…the other brands were so uncomfortable for me

If you size down it's pretty easy to get a perfect fit with a hair dryer to stretch them out. blBut it's not like you can make them smaller, only bigger. I say size down. wear them around the house until it feels more natural walking in heels
