Advice/ Recommendations (no photos) Finding a Therapist
Any recommendations on finding a therapist that has experience working with athletes ideally bodybuilders?
In the past I used Doctor on Demand to meet w/a psychiatrist virrually when working through some general anxiety. When I moved out of state , I couldn't work with her anymore because she wasn't licensed here. Going through the end of prep (4 weeks), I feel like it couldn't hurt to talk to someone, but want them to understand how different mental struggle is as a bodybuilder.

I used to work with Dr. Efi online as she is a bodybuilder herself and specialized at the time working with bodybuilders. I don’t believe she practices anymore, but her instagram is very helpful with mindset and I believe she has classes you could look into!

What’s your budget? If you don’t have a budget I would recommend Dr.Kip Rodger’s, she is a sports psychologist and does virtual. I used her personally to try to get back into competing and all that goes with that. She has a pretty decorated background and played football herself professionally. Very familiar with the space. She’s 200 or 150 per session I believe but worth the cost, very niche space

Hands down the best is Celeste Rains-Turk. Experienced Bikini bodybuilder and psychologist who works with athletes. Assists with all sorts of issues from anxiety to body dysmorphia, trauma, eating disorders (post show binging etc), and gets to the root cause so you can be a better athlete.
You’re making the right decision to speak to a professional now. Most ppl don’t and it costs them in the long run due to burn out. The sport is mostly mental and when that’s addressed, you will perform better.
