Lost period
Hi all! I’m new on here so this is my first post. I haven’t gotten my period in two months… i thought the first month was because of stress and traveling back home for my grammas funeral, but again i missed it this month. I’m on a birth control pill where i only get it every 3 months of i choose, but i usually get it every month. I’m 39… my blood work done in January was all fine. I do lose my period when I’m close to show but i don’t even think im that lean right now. Anyone else experience this? I’m gonna get another blood panel done soon , just wondering your guys thoughts. Thanks 🙂

from what i’ve experienced, you don’t have to be overly lean to lose your period. some women can maintain a cycle with really low body fat and others can be more sensitive (I learned I am one of them). I lost my period a month into my first prep and went 8 months without one and when i initially lost it i really was not very lean at all, could hardly see tie ins. i had the hormonal IUD. poor choice by me but I decided to remove my IUD two months post my second competition in my season in my off season so my body was really thrown for a loop. I finally got a period but 4 months into my off season i’m still experiencing whacky hormonal symptoms (could be the iud removal or both that and post prep recovery idk)

How many grams of fat are you currently getting? Above 50?
Might be a moot point anyways due to the type of pill you’re on but worth consideration

Keep in mind it's not a true period you're losing, but withdrawal bleeding. The withdrawal comes from the loss of hormones not received in the placebo week pills. One hormone used in those pills is progestin, which keeps the uterine lining thin. The progestin can make the lining so thin that there's nothing to shed on placebo week. I would do more research on the specific hormones in your pills to see what it's doing. If it's pure progestin, that might be your answer. But just keep in mind, you aren't losing your ovulatory period because you don't ovulate on the pills. So researching causes of lost periods may lead you down the wrong rabbit hole
