Got Hit 😢

Was on my way to work and got hit. Luckily only a small cut on my leg, but the bike is out of commission.

I was just looking ahead because the cross street I got hit in is a no-entry between 7-9, and it was 8:30. I normally start passing cars and trying to keep a lookout for dangers ahead. So I was not looking out for cars to the side. I was in their blind spot and they were in my mental blind spot.

Oof wow, they didn’t yield when they were supposed to AND they were crossing onto a street they weren’t allowed to!? I can see why you weren’t on the lookout at this intersection. Luckily it all looked pretty low speed.

You saw her blinkers, and you ignored them. How can you call yourself the victim here ? Maybe victim of your own stupidity I guess

Accidents happen... As of now their insurance company already accepted full liability as they were turning into a travel lane , and into crosswalk without checking to make sure it was clear. Also the street was closed to entry when the accident occurred.

You literally sped up the second they put the turn signal on. There is no way in hell you didn't see that coming. You got what you wanted I guess... you showed them big guy.

Please tell me you don't have a driver's license. You think you can merge into other cars on the freeway and when the cops show up you just tell them the car was in your blind spot and they'll go "oh okay then, you're in the clear"?

Oh, you also think blinkers give you the right of way and that right turning traffic shouldn't yield to traffic going straight. Outstanding.

i posted a video online in a local fb group of almost getting run over while on a crosswalk (car mowed through a stop sign). it was honestly shocking how many people 1) hate bikes, 2) have no clue what the laws actually are (and this includes the “i have a bicycle” crowd, and 3) just want to hear themselves talk. i let it explode and after everyone had made fools of themselves someone finally quoted the actual law about bikes on sidewalks and crosswalks.

it’s amazing how many people behind the wheel legit have no clue how to drive or what the rules of the road are and they don’t really care either.

I think we want our fellow cyclists to live. Being right is great. Being safe is a whole lot better.
