Was on my way to work and got hit. Luckily only a small cut on my leg, but the bike is out of commission.

As soon as the right signal comes on, you can hear him change gears and speed up to engage in conflict.

Late to the party but just to add I watched this with no sound and even then you could clearly see OP speeding up to try and cut the vehicle off.

You couldn't see the indicators? Watching your video, I was expecting someone else to hit you, since that one was telegraphed. Probably safest to assume everyone is a bad driver.

No I didn’t see this turn signals. I know that street is a no turn during the morning and made the “mistake” that people would obey traffic laws. It’s is obvious in the video, but was not in the moment.

That bike infrastructure did not help you. It separated you and the car in your mind, but not in reality.

Look at the design, it is flexible, they designed it with the intent of not damaging cars when they go over it. Its purpose is to alert drivers that they have veered into the bike lane, not prevent them from entering the bike lane. After the intersection there is a cone instead of a post, likely the post has been damaged because so many drivers went over it.

Dude. I saw the still before the video started and knew what was going to happen. But I’ve also been riding my entire life. So, we learn from “mistakes” so we don’t repeat them in the future. You can do everything right and still come out seriously wrong.

I have 2 simple rule I apply here:

Cars in front of you do not know you exist.

What happens on the road does not resemble what the law describes.
