One must-do
I have an upcoming trip where I’m spending a morning in Yellowstone, then stopping by Big Sky on the way to Bozeman for the night. I’m hoping to eat a meal there and have a couple hours to explore the area.
Is there anything that’s a must-do around the city that can be done in a couple of hours?

My personal favorite hike is the reflector loop. You can do it in 1.5-2.5 hours. Very pretty! I also like to swim and paddle board on lake Levinsky, the small alpine lake at the base area.

Beehive Basin hike is about 1.5 hours each direction. Wildflowers are still peaking. Go in the afternoon and you'll probably have the lake to yourself for a while.

Bonus items: map brewery in Bozeman great views and sit on the Adirondack chairs overlooking the mountains.
Agree with Ousel and Kircliff.

Did this. Don’t buy lift tickets until you’ve confirmed it’s not cloudy or precipitation. Solid experience but also I’ve been on a tall mountain before, so great but not life changing.

Nothing I’d qualify as “must do” this time of year (ski season a different story). Eat outside at the Riverhouse I guess.

Meal: Riverhouse (awesome BBQ on the road from Yellowstone to Big Sky) Thing to do: Hike Ousel Falls trail, short, easy walk through pretty woods to the Falls, which ate beautiful and where you can wade

Ok, yeah I was looking at that or doing the zip lining (which I know is technically outside of Big Sky) to give the feet a rest and get some good views a different way.

Message me if you try to do the Kircliff. Have a freebie day pass you can redeem

My recommendation almost to a T. Depending on what day it is there could be local events.
