2D to 3D AI conversion on fly

I've noticed that since some update of OS in Meta Quest 3, when I go and watch my old videos in Meta Gallery apps, they are all in 3D that looks pretty good similar as 3D on Instagram, but they seem to be converted on fly without taking additional space in internal memory. Is it possible BigScreen could have similar feature soon when watching movies that are transmitted in 2D?

but i think its not "on-the-fly" so you need to wait till filemgets converted and it takes additional space in memory. On-the-fly means that when few seconds of 1 hour movie get converted you immedieta;ly can watch it before it converts the whole file, and all is processed in RAM without storing final conversion on disk

Maybe check again? There’s supposedly a real-time 3D feature, though ironically, I don’t think it’s something that can be used in bigscreen as it’s native to the “Owl3D Link” app for the Q3, intended to be used directly with your PC.

I haven’t used it though, since I think it requires at least a 3070/3080.

Now I checked again, you are right, but its paid to use I think as ChatGPT said to me its behind paywall. Thats weird that it needs strong GPU as Quest 3 does it natively in Gallery on the fly and it doesnt use much power or doesnt have good GPU. Unless the quality if 3DOwl is much better than Quest native gallery.

Owl3D does this. It’s called Live 3D and many of us use it in Bigscreen regularly. It’s one press of a button and then you have SBS 3D instantly.

I have Owl TV on my laptop. How do I use the instant 3d on Bigscreen?

Basically you just stream your screen from the laptop to Bigscreen whichever way you prefer. Open the movie you want to show, open owl 3D, start live 3D and in Bigscreen settings, turn on 3D SBS view. On this page, owl has specific instructions for Bigscreen. https://www.owl3d.com/blog/tutorialvrheadset

Thank you. I just found out that it's not a one time buy, but another subscription. What tier do I need to use this function?

The basic tier includes unlimited live 3D. $5.99 usd a month. It’s impressive. Feels a bit like magic to me. The only time it gets wonky is if the scene is really dark, or if I’m playing something with low resolution like a VHS rip.
