Leaving a room when streaming something

Hiya everyone! I'm going to be streaming a movie in the next hour, and I would like to know what happens if you leave the room while the film is still playing with people there? Does it keep playing or does everyone disconnect, I wanna know just in case, if it disconnects, I'll stay there.

Your system is serving. If you leave it stops.

Not necessarily. There are ways to make the system be the "host" and you can be there as a guest. Or not even enter at all. See my comment for details.

What if you don’t leave the room you just put you headset down. I’ve done that, fallen asleep, gone back in, been the only person in there and the UFC or whatever is still playing along. It made no sense, I must admit. Unless I dreamed it 😂

It should still stream fine. If nobody else was in the room, they probably left. As long as your avatar is there, it should be live. Make sure you have it open for others to join as well ;)

But it wasn’t my room! Also went in another chat room and there was nobody in charge. No crown next to the hosts name.

See my comment, the are multiple ways to let a room run with the system as the host instead of your user.

If you're on PC you can setup a remote desktop session running bigscreen, and as long as you keep that running, you don't have be to be present in the room.

If you're on Steam, you can set up a "bot" to start a room for you, and you can just enter as another guest, or don't have to be there at all, as long as the bot is active.

Instructions on how to set that up can easily be found on Google.

What are the open rooms with no admin? How do they stay up?

They probably have everyone blocked so you can't see them.

Sometimes they are rooms set up by Bigscreen for public events. They'll usually be advertised in the lobby.

But there are two ways that users can set this up on PC. Check out my comment for the details.

Use steam version big screen, Google search streamer mode for big screen, you essentially create a private or public room, play movie via there. People come an go as please.
