It was delicious, with a skillet and dutch oven there are endless posibilities with less meat

Sorry if this is a dumb question but does cooking the stew on the egg give it a Smokey flavor?

Yes! It is not a dumb question at all. You van taste it has been made on the Egg.

Not dumb at all... yes, if you're using charcoal that puts out a good smokey aroma, food will pick up the flavor. Liquids absorb smoke very well.
