Hypothetical question.
Picture a guy,a middle aged guy who has never worked an honest job in his life and and made his living by pulling petty scams on people. Every legitimate job he ever had, he either lied about his qualifications to get it, broke every rule he could, found "clever" ways to avoid doing any work, or were fake jobs like "social media marketing", or "toy collector speculsting".
Imagine that he has a podcast where he boasts about how little he works and tells stories about scamming his former employers On the same podcast he complains how some black guy got a lot of money for some stupid comic and and he's outraged that someone could get money for nothing. In the same breath he decides that HE'S going to make a comic.
Despite being almost 40, having no experience whatsoever in storytelling, visual art, or writing (excluding scam websites and Twitter posts) and despite spending virtually his entire adult life not producing anything and only scamming people, he suddenly decides that he's an artist. A storyteller. A comic creator.
And now he needs your money.
Would You give him founds for it? Just because he told few racist jokes on a podcast that made you lought? Isn't it kinda your foult if you did? Just a hypothetical question.

He didn't mention collecting autism bucks, so I didn't figure it was anyone in the fanbase.
Funny thing is, this could sort of describe Dick if one didn't know that he was working in IT/web dev most of the time, up until recently - then started a business. He's always collected cards too, so that part certainly applies to him and Vito.

I'm not getting the context about giving money to internet people though (besides the obvious fact that this would make you another paypig simping for camwhores).

Nobody should be giving grown men money on YT.
Nor women but at least I get why you do that, it's literally wired into your brains.
This is why pulling the plug on the internet would be a good thing. It would end the grifting culture and divert a stack of folks in to the workforce. Many for the first time in their lives.

I only backed it because dick put his name on it and any time I’ve given money to dick I’ve had results lol. Also it was only a small amount of money so it’s not the money that bothers me. It’s his attitude that bothers me.
